Toshijima Island Tour

ドイツからのインターン・アリが書きました!
この日はパラオからの研修生2人が答志島でガイドをしました!

——————————————————————————————-

Yesterday I got to visited the last island around Toba I had not seen which is called “Toshijima”. The other Interns had a tour-practice. They showed us around explaining what fish and seaweed the fisherman catch during all times of the year, also how they sundry a very small kind of fish called “shirasu“.

The tour continued by going to a fish market. On our way we stoped on numerous occasions. We stopped at the local school which was pretty big for an island school with over 40 students. Then we went to the local shrine which, so its says, foretells how healthy someone is. You have to walk across the shrine in socks and if the pebbles hurt your not healthy. However everyone of us hurt while walking across and to be honest I feel pretty healthy. So maybe the shrine just had a bad day. It was pretty cold and windy after all, who can blame it? On the next stop our tour guides explained a new-year tradition on the island. We carried on with the tour and went to a very small tofu shop where we had fried tofu and soy milk, it was very good. When we arrived at the fish market we got to see the catch of the day. Which mostly consisted of pufferfish. There was also bidding going on for the fish which was pretty interesting to see. Afterwards we went to a small soba restaurant where we had amazing yakisoba. That concludes the tour of Toshijima. I had a lot of fun and I believe the rest of the group too.
