The Secrets of Japanese Food from Mie
19,800 JPY per person
Shinsen, which consists of rice, salt, water, fish, and seaweed, is a sacred meal offered to the Gods twice a day; morning and evening. On this tour, we visit one of the Shinsen fish-makers at a smoked-bonito hut to learn about the traditions that have been passed down through generations of Japanese Artisans. This traditional katsuobushi (smoked-bonito flakes) making technique is also one of the root for Japanese cuisine. Find out about the healing foods and enjoy the hospitality of Ise people that has been given to every pilgrim since ancient times.
